This work project explores how the organized food retail chains, and the customer journey will change in Portugal until2030. Therefore, the transactional and contextual environments were analyzed to determine the drivers of change in this industry. To create four plausible, relevant, and independent scenarios, two critical uncertainties were chosen based on the impact and uncertainty level of each driver. Finally, strategic recommendations over three-time horizons were provided. Further more, as Artificial Intelligence is profoundly shaping the industry, four AI-powered solutions that might enhance the Customer Experience in the physical grocery stores by addressing the shopper's primary pain points were scrutinized.pt_PT
