Autism Spectrum Disorder lies as a mystifying disturbance that impacts thousands of families. APPDA LISBOA embraces a mission to avail all these families in the search for a reassuring future. A series of events led the organisation to highly depend on external funding, endangering the provision of the four social services in its portfolio. With the aim of sustaining the four social initiatives offered by APPDA LISBOA, a profitability strategy was defined for Unidade Prestadora de Cuidados de Saúde (UPCS). Currently, UPCS does not have the capacity to satisfy all the demand for Evaluation and Diagnosis appointments, making it necessary to increase its availability in the most critical periods of the year. Therefore, to fix this seasonality problem, the implementation of a new model of full-time Evaluation and Diagnosis appointments was analysed. It is a scenario in which the two current therapists work full-time on a weekly basis, thus increasing the availability of hours during that period. Hence, the scope of the analysis consists of improving its single business unit financials by transitioning the Evaluation and Diagnosis therapists to full-time and constructing a new infrastructure, as well as the design of a go-to-market strategy for a new business unit, to increase APPDA LISBOA’s financial independence.pt_PT
