No âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da
Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, o presente relatório descreve e analisa a experiência de estágio
curricular efetuado na Sintagma Traduções Unipessoal Lda., no ano letivo de 2024/2025. O
relatório divide-se em quatro capítulos: o primeiro foca-se na descrição da entidade de estágio,
incluindo as ferramentas e os fluxos de trabalho experimentados no ambiente profissional de
uma empresa de tradução audiovisual (TAV); o capítulo seguinte descreve as tarefas e
trabalhos desempenhados durante o estágio, culminando num balanço das tarefas efetuadas e
das dificuldades enfrentadas ao longo da realização das mesmas; de seguida, passa-se em
revista as abordagens apresentadas por uma variedade de autores no respeitante à tradução do
humor; por último, responde-se à questão de investigação selecionada: quais os
constrangimentos da tradução e legendagem do humor em diferentes produtos audiovisuais?.
Para tal, procedeu-se à análise de dois produtos audiovisuais, a legendagem aberta
interlinguística da sitcom Two and a Half Men, e a Legendagem para Surdos e Ensurdecidos
(LSE) via teletexto de Pôr do Sol, no sentido de elencar os constrangimentos que afetam o
processo de tradução do humor.
As part of the Master’s in Translation at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, this report describes and analyses the curricular internship at Sintagma Traduções Unipessoal Lda., in the academic year of 2024/2025. This report is divided into four chapters: the first focuses on describing the internship host, featuring the tools and workflows experienced in the professional environment of an audiovisual translation company (AVT); the following chapter describes the tasks and projects carried out during the course of the internship, culminating in the overall balance of the tasks completed and the challenges faced while working on them; next, approaches proposed by several authors in the translation of humour are analysed: lastly, the fourth chapter answers the research question at hand: what constraints affect the translation and subtitling of humour in different audiovisual products?. To do that, two audiovisual products were analysed, open interlinguistic subtitling of the sitcom Two and a Half Men and Subtitling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SDH) through teletext of Pôr do Sol, as to list the constraints that affect the process of translating humour.
