Resumo(s)
This study explores the experience of an international assignment by addressing the cross cultural adjustment issue and exploring the impact of cultural distance on expatriates’ cultural adjustment. The research model explores and integrates the three facets of cultural adjustment: work, interaction and general adjustment. Using semi structured interviews to perform a qualitative analysis of the Portuguese managers’ experience as expatriates, the research results showed that it is the interaction facet of cultural adjustment that cultural distance affects the most.
