Throughout the years and its formation, successive European Union Treaties, Directives and Regulations have brought more benefits to its citizens, including migrants. This work aims to survey and analyse these advantages thus allowing, through the internship experience at the Consulate General of Portugal in Paris - under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Curricular Internship Program (PECMNE) - to observe how European law has facilitated the living and migratory conditions for many of the users of this consular post and how the internship site is an important agent in the application of European law. This work has a multidisciplinary nature, in which the fields of diplomacy, migration and the European Union intersect in the pandemic scenario that took place around the world, more specifically in France, between October 2020 and April 2021.
