O percurso do jornalismo local é controverso. Embora ninguém negue a sua importância e o papel que desempenha no desenvolvimento de certas comunidades, o jornalismo local e regional parece antiquado e pode ter-se perdido no caminho da modernização e na adaptação a um mundo digital, caminho que grande parte dos meios de comunicação nacional já alcançou. O presente relatório de estágio pretende perceber em que pé está o jornalismo de proximidade em Portugal, onde começou e que problemas enfrenta. No contexto de um estágio na editoria Local do jornal Público, este relatório pretende perceber que tipos de conteúdos são produzidos nesta secção e as suas diferenças em vários pontos de análise, uma vez que é a única em todo o jornal que produz diferentes conteúdos consoante as duas redações que o Público possui em território português: Porto e Lisboa.
The course of local journalism is controversial. Although no one can deny its importance, the role that this type of journalism plays in the development of certain communities, local and regional journalism seems to have lost itself in a world of modernity, and in the adaptation to a digital world, a path that most of the national media has already reached. The present has the main goal to understand where journalism of proximity stands in Portugal, where it started and what problems it faces today. In the context of an internship in the local section of Público newspaper, this report will also analyze what type of content is produced, having in mind that this section is the only one in the whole newspaper that veries from the two newsrooms that Público has in Porto and Lisbon
