Resumo(s)

Illnesses during childhood such as malaria and malnutrition are often responsible for lasting poor health status and may have negative consequences on present and future outcomes. Child health is therefore an important policy target in developing countries. Uganda has been affected by several internal conflicts in recent decades, with a strong negative impact on children’s health. This Work Project empirically confirms the negative impact that different conflict exposures between 1995 and 2006 have on children’s health status and quantifies the magnitude of these impacts in malaria, acute respiratory infections and severe malnutrition.
