This work project explores the transition from single-use to reusable packaging in the food and beverage industry, focusing on consumer behavior, corporate strategies, logistics, and governance. Despite growing environmental awareness, barriers such as convenience, hygiene
concerns, logistical challenges, and implementation costs hinder widespread adoption. Through qualitative content analysis of expert interviews across Europe, the paper identifies key factors for scaling sustainable packaging, including consumer education, efficient reverse logistics, and industry collaboration. It highlights the importance of regulatory frameworks and stakeholder cooperation in driving the shift to sustainable packaging and supporting a circular economy.
