This report investigates the banking business models in Portugal succeeded by an in-depth analysis
on the digital bank business model. The research incorporates a clustering analysis of the Portuguese
banking industry, which identifies the different banking business models in Portugal. By analysing
and evaluating the digital bank business model, its main advantages and vulnerabilities are derived.
Recommendations to optimize the business model of Portuguese digital banks are generated, namely
the expansion of product and services portfolio, which is essential to successfully respond to external
threats and ensure the competitiveness of the business model in the future
