Cities are under pressure as their importance as economic and populational centers grows. Smart Cities answer these urban challenges, improving well-being, productivity, competitiveness, and innovation, as high returns to all stakeholders spur investment in digital technologies. This project assesses Lisbon, rated 75th smartest city worldwide, in the dimensions of governance and mobility, finding that integration is one of Lisbon’s biggest mobility challenges, although the market of Mobility as a Service is growing, and companies are developing solutions to support public entities used by the municipality. Therefore, Lisbon should implement an app based on the one developed by the market leader.
