O presente relatório surge na sequência da realização de um estágio profissional no Agrupamento de Escolas do Restelo no âmbito da componente não letiva do Mestrado em Português como Língua Segunda e Estrangeira da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. O trabalho apresenta o percurso da estagiária na instituição de ensino de acolhimento em prol da análise, elaboração, planificação e implementação de materiais e atividades
didáticas orientadas para o desenvolvimento da competência comunicativa e da oralidade no ensino-aprendizagem de PLNM no 3.º ciclo do ensino básico e no ensino secundário. Fundamentou-se, essencialmente, na averiguação do contexto do ensino-aprendizagem dos aprendentes de PLNM, do seu perfil cultural e sociolinguístico e das suas necessidades educativas específicas; na análise dos desafios
atuais ao ensino-aprendizagem de PLNM; no desempenho de funções pedagógicas inerentes ao ensino de PLNM; e na reflexão sobre a importância da oralidade no ensino-aprendizagem de PLNM. Este relatório pretende igualmente ilustrar e evidenciar o facto de grande parte dos desafios atuais ao ensino de PLNM advirem, por um lado, da dificuldade por parte das escolas em operacionalizar o quadro legal vigente e, por
outro, das diretrizes emanadas pelo Ministério da Educação e advoga ainda a adoção da Abordagem Comunicativa (CLT) como uma metodologia pedagógica viável e adaptável às necessidades comunicativas reais dos alunos.
This report arises from a professional internship at Agrupamento de Escolas do Restelo within the scope of the non-taught component of the Master's Degree in Portuguese as a Second and Foreign Language at NOVA University Lisbon. This paper summarises the trainee's journey at the host institution with the aim of analysing, designing, planning and implementing didactic materials and activities targeted at developing communicative competence and orality in the teaching and learning of PLNM in middle and secondary education. The main grounds for this report were to ascertain the teaching and learning context of PLNM learners, their cultural and sociolinguistic profile and their specific educational needs; to analyse the current challenges facing PLNM teaching and learning; to carry out pedagogical responsibilities inherent to PLNM teaching; and to reflect on the importance of orality in PLNM teaching and learning. This report also seeks to illustrate and highlight the fact that a significant part of the current challenges facing PLNM teaching stem, on the one hand, from the difficulty schools have in implementing the current legal framework and, on the other, from the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education. It also advocates the adoption of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) as a viable pedagogical methodology that can be adapted to the real communicative needs of students.
