Relações bilaterais entre Angola e Portugal sob a perspectiva da balança de pagamentos e da posição do investimento internacional

As relações entre Angola e Portugal remontam de longa data devido aos laços históricos que unem os dois povos, sendo patentes em diversos níveis, nomeadamente, cultural, social e económico. Com o fim da guerra civil em Angola em 2002 e a estabilidade política alcançada essas relações foram-se estreitando cada vez mais. Atualmente, Portugal constitui um dos principais mercados das importações angolanas, representando 12,7% do total das importações angolanas, sendo de destacar como principais importações no capítulo de máquinas, aparelhos mecânicos e eletrónicos e no capítulo das bebidas e bens alimentares. As importantes relações comerciais estabelecidas entre Portugal e Angola tornam necessário um acompanhamento no sentido de aferir a respetiva evolução, assim como identificar os segmentos da economia onde se desenvolvem maiores relações entre os dois países e os que têm menor importância. Este trabalho teve então por objetivo analisar a Balança de Pagamentos e posição do investimento internacional bilateral entre Angola e Portugal, bem como analisar a qualidade do processo de compilação destas estatísticas. Deste trabalho resultou um conjunto de recomendações sobre melhorias nas práticas internacionalmente aceites de compilação da Balança de Pagamentos e da Posição do Investimento Internacional, levadas a cabo pelo Banco Nacional de Angola.
The relations between Angola and Portugal date back a long time due to the historical ties that unite the two peoples, being present in several levels, namely, cultural, social and economic. With the end of the civil war in Angola in 2002 and the political stability achieved these relations became more and more narrow. Currently, Portugal is one of the main markets for Angolan imports, accounting for 12.7% of total Angolan imports, with the main imports being in the chapter of machines, mechanical and electronic devices and in the chapter on beverages and food. The important commercial relations established between Portugal and Angola make it necessary to monitor the evolution of these countries, as well as to identify the segments of the economy where the two countries are developing the most important relations. The objective of this work was to analyze the Balance of Payments and bilateral international investment position between Angola and Portugal, as well as to analyze the quality of the compilation process of these statistics. This work resulted in a set of recommendations on improvements in the internationally accepted practices for the compilation of the Balance of Payments and the International Investment Position, carried out by the National Bank of Angola.
