Hobbes como um contratualista moderno

The present article intends to show that Hobbes, although one of the founding fathers of the modern political individualist paradigm is not a contractualist, insisting, for this purpose, on his work Leviathan. The sovereign is not then born according to the social and political contract that would originate society, rather, the contract implies the character of the sovereign, without whom the individualist political society would not exist. The wholesome understanding of the sovereign power is therefore Hobbes main purpose.
