This article analyzes two texts as exemplars of the text genre wine radiophonic chronicle about wine. From a top-down methodology based on the notion of language activity, genre is described by text occurrences, selecting the following points of view: the consumer society as an important contemporary social issue, the thematic organization and argumentative organization (the latter closely associated with deontic modality) as linguistic issues that mark text genre and expressing persuasive dynamics specialist, an operator indirectly involved in selling the product.
