Resumo(s)

This project work explores the application of Business Intelligence (BI) solution to improve the management and operational efficiency of a sports club's medical clinic. In the context of the professional sports sector, where the health of athletes and effective recovery from injuries are crucial to sporting performance, this study addresses the growing need for data-driven decision-making in clinical environments. Design Science Research methodology was used to develop a BI analytical relational model, using the Microsoft Fabric platform and the Power BI tool. The model was designed to process and analyse clinical data a sports organisation. The solution includes a relational data model based on a star schema and a set of interactive dashboards tailored to the main clinical, technical and management needs. These visual tools allow stakeholders to identify the most frequent injuries by sport, analyse average recovery times, monitor the volume of medical consultations and detect data classification problems. The study demonstrates how BI can support prevention strategies, assess and optimise resource allocation and streamline rehabilitation planning, through descriptive and prescriptive analyses. The results show a significant improvement in access to information and in the operational transparency of the clinic, as well as highlighting the potential for future research and expansion of the application of BI in sports medicine. This research contributes to filling the gap in the literature on BI in the clinical-sports context, offering a replicable model that combines technology with clinical management, promoting the well-being of athletes and organisational efficiency.
