A indústria agrícola, fundamental no fornecimento de alimentos à população mundial,
enfrenta uma série de desafios que vão desde a sustentabilidade e a redução do desperdício
até à gestão eficaz. A busca por soluções para esses desafios levou a uma tendência de
digitalização na indústria. Neste contexto, a Cooperativa Agrícola de Beja e Brinches
emerge como um exemplo concreto desta necessidade de modernização e otimização das
operações agrícolas.
A cooperativa atua no setor olivícola e enfrenta desafios significativos relacionados
com a gestão do armazenamento de azeite. Um dos fatores é a dificuldade em saber a
quantidade de azeite disponível em cada depósito. Adicionalmente, o registo manual
das informações, seguido pela posterior digitalização, propicia a ocorrência de erros e
ineficiências, resultando em informações incorretas. Estes problemas podem culminar em
decisões comerciais inadequadas e custos operacionais adicionais.
De forma a ultrapassar estas limitações, propôs-se a criação de uma plataforma de
simulação para gestão e armazenamento de azeite que oferece uma visão precisa dos
dados da cooperativa, permite a simulação de cenários referentes ao seu funcionamento e
facilita o registo controlado de informações.
A plataforma desenvolvida apresenta uma melhoria no funcionamento da cooperativa
no que toca à gestão de recursos, reduzindo erros operacionais e contribuindo para uma
tomada de decisão mais informada.
The agricultural industry, which is instrumental in supplying food to the world’s population, faces a range of challenges ranging from sustainability and waste reduction to effective management. The search for solutions to these challenges has led to a trend of digitalization in the industry. In this context, the Agricultural Cooperative of Beja and Brinches appears as an example of this need for modernization and optimization of agricultural operations. The cooperative operates in the olive sector and faces significant challenges related to the management of olive oil storage. One of the factors is the difficulty in knowing how much olive oil is available in each tank. In addition, the manual recording of information, followed by subsequent digitization, leads to errors and inefficiencies, resulting in incorrect information. These problems can result in inappropriate business decisions and additional operating costs. To overcome these limitations, it is proposed the creation of a simulation platform for the management and storage of olive oil that offers an accurate view of the coopera- tive’s data, allows the simulation of scenarios regarding its operation and facilitates the controlled recording of information. The developed platform presents an improvement in the operation of the cooperative regarding the management of resources, reducing operational errors and contributing to a more informed decision making.
