No ambiente empresarial altamente competitivo e dinâmico de hoje, a capacidade de se
adaptar a novas necessidades e tomar decisões informadas é crucial para o sucesso
organizacional. O Business Intelligence (BI) surge como uma ferramenta valiosa para
transformar grandes volumes de dados em ativos estratégicos que aprimoram a tomada de
decisão e o desempenho organizacional. Este estudo explora a aplicação de BI no setor de
outsourcing, com foco nos desafios enfrentados pelas pequenas e médias empresas (PMEs)
na gestão das suas frotas de veículos. As PMEs frequentemente enfrentam dificuldades na
gestão eficaz das suas frotas, resultando em custos excessivos e ineficiências operacionais.
Esta investigação identifica a necessidade de uma ferramenta de análise financeira adaptada
aos requisitos únicos das PMEs no setor de outsourcing. O estudo tem como objetivo
desenvolver e demonstrar um sistema de BI para controlo e gestão de frotas, utilizando a
Empresa X como estudo de caso. O projeto é composto por duas fases: uma estrutura teórica
baseada numa revisão de literatura e a implementação prática do modelo de BI. A solução de
BI é projetada para fornecer insights em tempo real e relatórios detalhados sobre a utilização
de veículos, custos operacionais e oportunidades de otimização. Esta investigação contribui
para o campo académico ao oferecer novas perspetivas e metodologias para a gestão de
frotas e BI. Na prática, fornece um quadro que pode melhorar a competitividade e a gestão
financeira das PMEs. Os resultados destacam a importância de integrar tecnologias avançadas
para melhorar a tomada de decisão, a eficiência de custos e a sustentabilidade nas operações
de frota.

Business Intelligence (BI) serves as a valuable tool for transforming vast amounts of data into strategic assets that enhance decision-making and organizational performance. This study explores the application of BI in the outsourcing sector, focusing on the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in managing their vehicle fleets. SMEs often struggle with effective fleet management, leading to excessive costs and operational inefficiencies. This research identifies the need for a financial analysis tool tailored to the unique requirements of SMEs in the outsourcing sector. The study aims to develop and demonstrate a BI system for fleet control and management, using Company X as a case study. The project consists of two phases: a theoretical framework based on a literature review, and the practical implementation of the BI model. The BI solution is designed to provide real-time insights and detailed reports on vehicle usage, operational costs, and opportunities for optimization. This research contributes to the academic field by offering new insights and methodologies for fleet management and BI. Practically, it provides a framework that can enhance the competitiveness and financial management of SMEs. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating advanced technologies for improved decision-making, cost efficiency, and sustainability in fleet operations.
