O aumento do ritmo de crescimento da população, resulta no aumento de áreas urbanas,
ou seja, provoca o fenómeno de urbanização. É urgente, tornar as cidades mais sustentáveis,
eficientes, habitáveis, competitivas e alinhadas com os Objetivos do Desenvolvimento
Sustentável (ODS), mais concretamente o ODS 11, cidades e comunidades sustentáveis
(UNITED NATIONS, 2015). A qualidade de vida nas áreas urbanas é um fator determinante
de competitividade das cidades. O planeamento urbano sustentável, a centralidade, assim
como o acesso a bens, serviços e os espaços verdes são fatores determinantes para a
qualificação da paisagem urbana e para o bem-estar social.
O presente estudo tem como foco primordial entender as noções de espaço urbano,
centralidade, acessibilidade e mobilidade urbana associados a interfaces de transportes
públicos.
Devido à constante evolução tecnológica, o espaço urbano tem vindo a ser alterado com
novos conceitos de um desenvolvimento urbano sustentável. O espaço urbano deve ser visto
como um local de convivência e de lazer, como também de serviços e fluxos pelo que se torna
necessário compreender as noções de mobilidade urbana sustentável, os seus objetivos,
desafios e as políticas que promovem a sua implementação.
Ao longo da dissertação é detalhada a construção da visão para regeneração ambiental
do território culminando com a apresentação de 33 propostas de intervenção, onde se
pretende valorizar o território, promoção dos transportes públicos e integração dos modos,
mobilidade suave e regeneração ambiental da área central da Amadora e envolvente urbana.
The increase in the rate of population growth results in an increase in urban areas, that is, it causes the phenomenon of urbanization. It is urgent to make cities more sustainable, efficient, liveable, competitive and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS), more specifically ODS 11, sustainable cities and communities (UNITED NATIONS, 2015). The quality of life in urban areas is a determining factor in the competitiveness of cities. Sustainable urban planning, centrality, as well as access to goods, services and green spaces are determining factors for the qualification of the urban landscape and social well-being. The present study's primary focus is to understand the notions of urban space, centrality, accessibility and urban mobility associated with public transport interfaces. Due to constant technological evolution, urban space has been changing with new concepts of sustainable urban development. Urban space must be seen as a place of coexistence and leisure, as well as services and flows, which is why it is necessary to understand the notions of sustainable urban mobility, its objectives, challenges and the policies that promote its implementation. Throughout the dissertation, the construction of the vision for the environmental regeneration of the territory is detailed, culminating in the presentation of 33 intervention proposals, which aim to enhance the territory, promote public transport and integration of modes, smooth mobility and environmental regeneration of the central area of Amadora and its urban surroundings.
