Nowadays, Business Intelligence systems play an important role in companies, as they provide valuable
information that improves decision-making. Within the context of sales management, there is a big
difference between collecting data and using it for analytical purposes, therefore BI is crucial to
transform large amounts of data into actionable information that answers business questions. In this
work, we develop a full BI solution to help Company X manage sales data of a new product line. As the
current reporting is not based on a structured data warehouse model, we used the Kimball Lifecyle
approach to build a new data model dedicated to storing sales data and to develop interactive
dashboards adapted to Company X's requirements. With this work, we provide the company with a
new structured model that can aid in the quick monitoring of the sales transactions at different levels.
Additionally, the use of BI tools used in this work, such as Oracle Data Integrator for ETL processes and
MicroStrategy for creating dashboards, are not widely explored in the literature, therefore we enriched
the BI literature applied to sales management by combining the Kimball methodology with these tools.
