The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in IT audit processes represents a transformative
advancement in the field, promising enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and strategic insight. This thesis
proposes a comprehensive framework designed to leverage AI in IT audit, aiming to streamline audit
procedures, mitigate risks, and elevate audit quality. The framework encompasses various AI techniques,
including machine learning, natural language processing, and robotic process automation, tailored to
automate routine tasks, analyse vast datasets, detect anomalies, and predict risks. Key components of the
framework include audit data analytics, AI-powered audit tools, and robotic process automation,
facilitating real-time monitoring, proactive risk management, and adaptive audit strategies. Through case
studies and theoretical analyses, this thesis explores the practical implementation and potential benefits
of AI in IT audit, emphasizing its role in optimizing resource utilization, improving decision-making
processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The proposed framework serves as a
