Esta tese produz uma reflexão à luz das perspectivas antropológicas sobre a experiência subjetiva do envelhecimento entre três mulheres em três locais distintos de Portugal. Tendo em conta a fraca presença de trabalhos executados sobre o tema no país, este projeto de tese procura abrir a porta para algumas das perspetivas que podem ser adotadas no desenvolvimento do tema. O ageism, enquanto fenómeno social, deve ser abordado e integrado noutros estudos, como é o caso das políticas públicas, estudos de género, parentesco, entre outros, de forma a pensar um futuro baseado na esperança e na intergeracionalidade que devem acontecer por intermédio da partilha de conhecimentos e experiências.
This thesis seeks to reflect, in the light of the anthropological perspective, on the subjective experience of ageing among three women from three different places in Portugal. Given the lack of work on the subject in Portugal, this thesis seeks to open the door to some of the perspectives that can be adopted, encouraging its development. Ageism, as a social phenomenon, should be addressed and integrated into other studies such as public policies, gender studies, kinship, among others, in order to think about a future based on hope and intergenerationality which should happen through the sharing of knowledge and experiences.
