Abstract

O despovoamento das áreas rurais do interior de Portugal, com os sucessivos decréscimos da sua população residente, é um fenómeno que não é novo, sendo as suas causas conhecidas. Na sequência de trabalhos anteriores sobre o desaparecimento estatístico dos lugares, este estudo efectua uma análise aos lugares da faixa raiana do território de Portugal Continental. Comprova-se que também aqui se regista um grau de desaparecimento estatístico de lugares que no espaço de duas gerações pode vir a ocorrer em 44% dos lugares atualmente existentes. || The depopulation of rural areas in the interior of Portugal, with the successive decreases in its resident population, is a phenomenon that is not new, its causes being known. Following previous work on the statistical disappearance of places, this study analyzes the places in the border strip of the territory of mainland Portugal. It can be seen that this region also registers a degree of statistical disappearance of places that in the space of two generations can reach 44% of the places currently in existence.
