The aim of this thesis is to report the development of a project during my internship period with
AnalyticsHacker, a London-based consultancy company specialized in Data Analytics and Digital
Marketing. This internship is a requirement for the completion of my Master’s Degree in Data Science
and Advanced Analytics, with a specialization in Data Science. During my internship I performed
multiple tasks, including but not limited to the development of multiple projects, data analysis Mixed
Marketing Models, social media management, cybersecurity, and consultancy activities. This report
focuses on a project developed during this internship. The field of study and research of this thesis is
Data Visualization. The objective of the project is developing a tool to help current analysts in the
market. For this purpose, in the past, Google had a great tool, however with newer updates to that
tool, the quality of this tool has decreased. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the company to have
a tool with the previous features and qualities of the original tool. The tool is being developed using
Agile methods, connections to Google’s API system and a set of libraries for graphical representation.
It is important to mention that the research is focused on Data Visualization, and not Software
Engineering, although Software Engineering methods were applied. The visualizations of data that the
tool presents are select due to feedback of analysts in the field and what they would find appropriate
for visualization of the data, which includes but is not limited to: types of graphs/visualization
techniques, user interaction with the displayed data and ease of exportation of the visualizations and
datasets. The development of this tool was completely finalized under the scope of this report, has
been tested by 10 insider testers, including testers who were not familiarized with the tool, and later
used by over 50 public testers, who actively searched for the tool. All in all, while some issues were
detected, there was a positive evaluation of the project. The next step, maintenance of the project and
future iterations, is not covered by the scope of this report, as it is also currently undergoing.
