Resumo(s)
The growth of m-payment usage has prompted the development of financial technology resorting to
information systems. Considering the need to strengthen users’ continuance intention of m-payment
usage, this research aims to better comprehend which aspects can contribute to continuance
intention. We developed a survey collecting information from 215 m-payment users in Portugal, and
the data were analysed with partial least squares. Grounded on the expectation-confirmation model,
joining perceived security and perceived privacy, the proposed research model explained 75% of m payment continuance intention. Perceived security proved to have a significant positive effect on the
continuance intention to use m-payment. We also found perceived privacy to moderate the effects
of satisfaction and perceived usefulness over continuance intention.
