Neste artigo fazemos um breve estudo da conquista dos direitos sociais em Portugal desde 1974 e dos conflitos colectivos que decorreram a partir da década de 80 do século XX com a vitória do neoliberalismo, que associamos a dois factores chave: a derrota dos sectores mais combativos do movimento operário e o pacto social, que manteve os sindicatos ligados a um sindicalismo de negociação, avesso ao confronto social. This article sums up the history of the struggle for social rights in Portugal since 1974 and of the collective conflicts that took place from the 80s onwards, with the victory of neoliberalism. This victory is associated here with two key factors: the defeat of the most combative sectors of the labor movement and the social pact, that tied up the unions to a tactic of negotiation, against any social confrontation
