This activity report is based on the conditions of the frame work "Para ser Mestre" of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, to obtain a Master's degree for pre-Bologna graduates. Following the good management practices, there is a need to analyze the results in order to take lessons and learns to improve the processes. However in the development of professional activity, is common that the needed time and dedication to carry out this task are not in the first priority. For this reason, the scope of this report is a contribution to the improvement of the maintenance strategy based on operational measurement taken from professional experience of the author on the firm Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe, SA, located in Tramagal - Portugal. Considering the technological innovations and the new functions of the maintenance departments in the areas of environment, people safety, equipment life cycle and cyber security, it led to an increase in the scope of its services, knowledge and responsibilities. Within the scope of the operational measurement of Maintenance, some indicators were observed with simultaneous analysis of the age and availability of the equipment, the rate of preventive maintenance performed, maintenance costs and waiting times, which in their complementary analysis, provided useful data for the next cycle of continuous improvement. As result of this study, the evolution of equipment availability's rate, the reduction of production stoppages and the improvement of the preventive maintenance's rate in the reference period from 2018 to 2021 stands out positively. For improvement, the perception of age showed the vital equipment and the need to review the risk analysis. In addition, it was point the need to improve the monitoring of the Painting Line, TPM lists and a new process for issuing and managing tickets to reduce lead times implementation.
