A Diretiva 2002/46/CE relativa à aproximação da legislação dos Estados-Membros no que respeita a suplementos alimentares, estabelece normas comunitÔrias relativas a suplementos alimentares, de modo a proteger o consumidor de potenciais riscos para a saúde e assegurar que não recebe informações enganosas.
O presente estudo, partindo do prĆ©vio enquadramento da temĆ”tica, foi desenvolvido em colaboração com a Autoridade de SeguranƧa Alimentar e Económica (ASAE) para compreender em termos qualitativos e quantitativos a atividade fiscalizadora da autoridade em matĆ©ria de Suplementos Alimentares no perĆodo entre 2014 e 2017. Foi realizada uma anĆ”lise de todas as aƧƵes por parte da ASAE neste perĆodo e nesta matĆ©ria, verificando-se que em Portugal foram realizadas 81 aƧƵes de fiscalização num universo de 542 alvos, instaurados 89 processos e detetadas 104 infraƧƵes.
O Sistema de Alerta RÔpido RASFF permitiu ainda realizar 25 apreensões em Portugal. Este sistema foi analisado em âmbito nacional e internacional de modo a compreender quais as principais diferenças entre os diversos estados-membros em termos de notificações realizadas ao sistema.
The Directive 2002/46/EC on the approximation of the laws of the Member-States relating to food supplements, establish community rules on food supplements in order to protect consumers against potential health risks and to ensure they do not receive misleading information. The present study, after establishment of the theme context, was developed with the collaboration of the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) to understand in qualitative and quantitative terms the inspective activity of the Authority on Food Supplements in the period between 2014 and 2017. It was an analysis of all the actions by the ASAE in this period and in this matter was verified that in Portugal 81 actions of inspection were carried out in a universe of 542 targets, 89 cases were instituted and 104 infractions were detected. The Rapid Alert System RASFF also allowed 25 apreehensions in Portugal by the authorities. This system was analyzed nationally and internationally in order to understand the main differences between the different member states in terms of notifications made to the system.
