aplicada à divulgação do património histórico cemiterial". O objetivo deste desafio é a
no contexto do cemitério.
A mesma incentiva a interação e
The evolution of mobile technologies in recent years alongside the increased interest in historical and cultural sites, led to an increase in the integration of technologies in these sites. This integration has the advantage of making visits more interesting and informative, providing a richer user experience. However, most of them, such as audio guides and augmented reality applications, are usually intended for individual use. Thus, when used individually by members of a group, they have the consequence of socially isolating users. The Lisbon Urban Data Laboratory, being aware of the increasing popularity in the use of technologies in both historical and cultural contexts, launched the challenge "Innovation applied to the dissemination of historical cemetery heritage". The objective of this challenge being the introduction of technology in the Prazeres Cemetery, with the purpose of attracting new visitors. The Prazeres Cemetery is an extremely rich place in terms of both historical and cultural content. Built in 1833, it is known for the great personalities buried there and unique constructions, therefore being considered an open-air museum. The main goal of this dissertation is the development of a mobile application in the context of the cemetery. The purpose of this application is to provide visitors of the place with a shared experience among the elements of a group. It encourages interaction and communication between visitors through various techniques, while presenting interactive and educational information from various points of interest. Several formats are used to provide this information, such as audio, images and augmented reality. The goal is to provide a richer experience for groups visiting the cemetery. The application also went through a phase of user testing in several different contexts. This served to ascertain its usability and also to verify if the application met the preestablished goals.
