Resumo(s)
The project aims to respond to the management of processes in the public sector, focusing on optimization and sustainability. This discipline has evolved in the last decades, but the municipalities have not adapted to the needs of the current times. Although investments in technology and information management systems have been made, there is still a lack of documentation and task structuring.
The Viana do Castelo City Council, located in the north of Portugal, has been investing in different scientific areas. The use of BPM (Business Process Management) can bring several managerial improvements, through optimized implementations of models to manage the propagation of information.
To understand the area under study, it is essential to analyze the governmental structure, which is based on hierarchies and legislation, and to conduct interviews with the associated entities. A review of research associated with different topics such as tools, good implementation practices, BPM in general, and its application in local governments, smart cities, and sustainability, is essential to further explore the discipline.
For the implementation of BPM, it is necessary to identify the processes associated with different tasks. It is expected to obtain a positive validation of results, both quantitative and qualitative, about the models created so that they are suitable for the respective application.
