Resumo(s)
Social media are probably one of the most influential and disruptive technologies of the present times. They are ubiquitous and can influence virtually every aspect of one’s life. Our research model sheds light on social media's positive and negative outcomes and how these affect one’s satisfaction with life. We also explore how personality traits can influence these relationships. Data involving 390 social media users were collected and analyzed. Results showed that users could gain on the level of individual performance and social interaction ties and lose on the techno-invasion level. People whose emotional stability is poor feel the impact of techno-invasion more than others: social interaction ties and the invasion of social media affect one’s satisfaction with life.
