When one studies a language, whatever the perspective or the theoretical model chosen may be, one will (always) find a non bi-univocal relation between linguistic forms and the values that those forms can trigger. The case of tense forms like the Presente do Indicativo of EP, of the verb forms dever and poder, of forms like cá and lá, or the conjunctions eand mas, are examples that help corroborate this statement. In face of this non bi-unvocal relation, some questions can be raised that are, at first, apparently contradictory. In other words: being at stake, in this WGT, a reflection on questions of representation, we wish to contribute to this discussion starting from hypotheses that can allow us to understand how linguistic forms behave. The analysis of different occurrences of some linguistic forms of EP will lead us to another (double) question: if a linguistic form acquires different values in different contexts, does it mean that being that a unique form, it unfolds and shapes itself to assume different roles or, in each case, what we have is a multiplicity of forms that share one phonetic form and an heterogeneity of senses?
