A alimentação, para o período islâmico e para o Ġarb al-Andalus, é uma das áreas temáticas sobre que temos vindo a trabalhar desde 2014. A nossa base de trabalho tem sido o conjunto vegetal, que se situa cronologicamente entre os séculos X e XIII, que temos vindo a identificar a partir da arqueo-botânica em Portugal, e confirmados, nos conteúdos, nas fontes andalusis de botânica e agronomia. Aquele conjunto vegetal autóctone, do Ġarb al-Andalus (Ocidente Ibérico) chegava aos mercados, ou por produção local ou através de rotas comerciais. E é esse conjunto, que chegaria aos mercados e lhes daria dinamismo comercial, mas também social e cultural, que iremos aqui identificar e elencar. Food, for the Islamic period and for Ġarb al-Andalus, is one of the thematic areas we have been working on since 2014. Our base of work has been the plant cluster, which is chronologically located between the 10th and 13th centuries, which was identified from the archeo-botany in Portugal, and confirmed, in the contents, in the Andalusian sources of botany and agronomy. That native plant cluster from Ġarb al-Andalus (Western Iberian) reached markets either by local production or by trade routes. And is this native plant cluster that reached the markets and give them commercial, but also social and cultural dynamic, that we will identify and list here.
