No atual clima de crescentes exigências de eficácia e eficiência dos processos, é exigido à EMEL uma visão fiável e sólida do desempenho de um negócio através da monitorização do desempenho apoiado num dashboard corporativo, onde os indicadores de avaliação do negócio estão agrupados por áreas, possibilitando a gestão do risco do negócio e aumentando significativamente a eficácia na tomada de decisões de forma rápida, fiável e intuitiva.
Atualmente as ferramentas de business intelligence ganham cada vez maior importância nos contextos empresariais, possibilitando uma maior competitividade e consequentemente a exigência de respostas rápidas, adequadas e dinâmicas.
O sistema de business intelligence e analytics (BI&A) tem assumido um especial relevo para as empresas e é sem dúvida uma mais valia no melhoramento do negócio da empresa, proporcionando análises mais complexas e abrangentes de forma a tomar decisões mais eficazes e rápidas.
Neste sentido, este trabalho de projeto tem como objetivo principal desenvolver um referencial para implementação de um sistema de business intelligence que permita capacitar a EMEL com recursos informacionais mais eficazes de apoio à decisão e ao planeamento da sua atividade operacional.
Assim, foi efetuada uma investigação/análise da melhor arquitetura a implementar, das ferramentas de business intelligence e analytics e da arquitetura de computação que melhor se adequam à realidade da empresa bem como a identificação das fontes de dados necessárias para a criação dos KPI identificados no negócio.
In the current climate of increasing demands for process effectiveness and efficiency, EMEL is required to have a reliable and solid view of business performance by monitoring performance based on a corporate dashboard, where business valuation indicators are grouped by areas, enabling managing business risk and significantly increasing decision-making efficiency quickly, reliably and intuitively. Today business intelligence tools are becoming increasingly important in business contexts, enabling greater competitiveness and consequently the demand for fast, appropriate and dynamic responses. The business intelligence and analytics system (BI&A) has been of particular importance to companies and is undoubtedly an asset in improving the business of the company by providing more complex and comprehensive analysis to make more effective and faster decisions. In this sense, this project work has as main objective to develop a framework for the implementation of a business intelligence system that enables EMEL to be empowered with more effective information resources to support the decision and planning of its operational activity. Thus, an investigation / analysis of the best architecture to implement, the business intelligence and analytics tools and the computing architecture that best fit the company's reality was performed, as well as the identification of the data sources necessary for the creation of the KPIs identified in the business.
