dc.description.abstractDiscorremos de forma reflexiva acerca da historiografia recente da história indígena no Brasil, destacando as lutas e as vivências dos grupos originários no presente e o que os chamados historiadores dos indígenas dos últimos tempos perscrutam do passado. Destacamos também as agências indígenas em processos de novas territorialidades e relações interétnicas, que, coletivamente, no pós-contato, souberam criar estratégias de sobrevivência mesmo diante das inúmeras violações dos seus direitos originários desde o século XVI até os dias atuais. Ressaltamos que trabalhos recentes sobre os povos indígenas são reveladores do uso de diferentes fontes históricas nos quais se evidenciam os protagonismos indígenas no pós-contato. O presente dossiê Povos Indígenas na América Portuguesa entre os Séculos XVI e XIX. Contatos Interétnicos, Agenciamentos e Territorializações contempla trabalhos inéditos que buscaram o caminho interdisciplinar da história dos povos indígenas, estruturando suas assertivas em diferentes epistemes como Antropologia, Educação, Legislação entre outros campos do saber revelando que na perspectiva decolonial os povos originários no passado e no presente souberam criar novas territorialidades adaptativas ao agenciarem espaços de poder diante das políticas indigenistas nas diferentes historicidades das regiões brasileiras. We discuss reflexively about the recent historiography of indigenous peoples in Brazil stressing the struggles and experiences of these original groups in the present and which the so-called indigenous historians of recent times scrutinize, highlighting indigenous agencies in processes of new territorialities, interethnic relations, and the fact that collectively in the post-contact they knew how to create survival strategies even in the face of countless violations of their original rights from the 16th century to the present day. We emphasize that the recent works on indigenous peoples reveal an use of different historical sources in which indigenous protagonisms are evident in the post-contact. The present dossier, called Indigenous Peoples in Portuguese America between the 16th and 19th centuries. Interethnic Contacts, Agencies and Territorializations, contemplates unprecedented works that sought the interdisciplinary path of the history of indigenous peoples, structuring their assertions in different epistemes such as anthropology, education, legislation, among other fields of knowledge, revealing the decolonial perspective that the original peoples in the past and in the present knew how to create new adaptive territorialities by building spaces of power in the face of indigenous policies in the different historicities of Brazilian regionsen
