This article reconstructs the history of the album titled “Drawings by Bolognese Artists of the 17th and 18th Centuries” (Bologna, Accademia di Belle Arti), based on archival records and Ingrid Svensson’s 1965 study. It traces the dispersal of the original drawings, correlating this process with exhibition practices from the 1970s onward. The text then delves into the question of attributions, offering an overview of the most significant ones and showcasing how the collection embodies the 18th-century Bolognese culture of quadratura and stage design, which profoundly influenced academic teaching in the 19th and 20th centuries.
