The quality of schools and their processes have an unquestionable impact on students’ development, particularly in early childhood and primary education, where they spend a significant portion of their time at school. While the benefits of Business Process Management (BPM) in improving processes have been demonstrated, research about its application in the educational context, especially outside of higher education, is still scarce. This project aims to bridge that gap by applying the BPM lifecycle framework to the new student preparation process at an educational institution that welcomes students from early childhood education to primary school. Through a comprehensive analysis of the current process, a new and improved process was designed to align with the institution’s goals. Although the implementation and monitoring of the suggested process were beyond the scope of this project, the results underscore the relevance of BPM in enhancing process efficiency, reducing overload, centralizing information, and, ultimately, increasing stakeholder satisfaction. These findings contribute to the discussion on BPM in educational settings and serve as a foundation for schools seeking to handle and manage their processes effectively.pt_PT
