Resumo(s)

The augmented reality smart glasses (ARSGs) are yet to achieve their full potential in all industries and in the individual’s life, therefore, new ARSGs are emerging from assorted brands, with new and improved features and advanced technology. In this study a conceptual research model was developed combining the fundamentals mobile user´s information privacy concerns and ubiquity, both as second order reflective-formative constructs. The model also includes perceived benefits (utilitarian, social and sensual) and perceived risks (personal and other people’s privacy), studied within the context of the privacy calculus theory. The benefits and risks are weighted and lead to the outcomes of using ARSGs, humanistic outcome such as well-being, and end-user performance as an instrumental outcome. Data was collected from 201 individuals and were used to evaluate the research model. The results highlight the strong impact of ubiquity and benefits, which will lead to desired outcomes in spite of the concerns and risks.
