Resumo(s)
Since the 70’s the changes in the education system, led to an increase in the number of students and therefore the need for more teachers. The growth of this need, led many graduates into this profession without education credentials required for teaching. This contributes to a less positive view of the quality of the professional’s in education and the profession itself. Since the 80’s guidelines have been implemented to adapt human resources to the current education system needs and ensure of quality education with professionals specifically working in the area of education. With the rehabilitation of credentials required for access to this profession and evaluation systems of professionals who wish to enter it. However, the picture we are seeing is the decline in the number of graduates in these areas, as well as the number of professionals still working. How do these graduates experience their professional integration processes — despite the fact that they received higher education specifically targeted for teaching — do they risk not achieving access to the teaching profession? How do they assess this profession and what position it occupies in their expectations systems and motivations for their professional future? These are the key issues that guide this reflexions.
