| dc.description.abstract | The prominent use of Artificial Intelligence tools in education, namely ChatGPT, has raised new questions on the reasons why students choose to use these types of tools and how they perceive their benefits. Differences in cultural values and beliefs are known to have a meaningful impact on users’ perceptions, yet empirical research linking culture to ChatGPT's success in higher education remains very limited. This study examines how cultural values influence students' experience with ChatGPT by integrating four GLOBE cultural dimensions into the DeLone and McLean well-known Information Systems Success Model. This innovative combined conceptual model, developed to capture both ChatGPT technological and cultural determinants of success, was examined using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) with data from 181 respondents, with a focus on university level of education. Findings show that both Use and User Satisfaction significantly influence the perceived Net System Benefits. Among the cultural dimensions, Human Orientation emerged as a significant contributor to Net System Benefits. Ultimately, this research contributes to making education a place where AI tools can be integrated responsibly, maximizing their benefits while reducing risks of misuse. | eng |
