A telereabilitação tem vindo a ganhar relevância como complemento às terapias convencio-
nais, permitindo que os pacientes realizem exercícios remotamente. Contudo, as soluções atu-
ais enfrentam uma limitação crítica: a escassez de medidas quantitativas para monitorizar o
desempenho e apoiar a decisão clínica, o que compromete a avaliação da evolução do paciente.
Para colmatar esta lacuna, foi desenvolvida a TeleRehaSync, uma plataforma que com-
bina dados qualitativos e quantitativos, adaptada a diferentes perfis de utilizador. Pode ser
utilizada em telereabilitação, através da monitorização remota com dados fisiológicos e cine-
máticos recolhidos pela t-shirt Hexoskin, um dispositivo wearable, mas também como comple-
mento à avaliação presencial, integrando simultaneamente dados da Hexoskin e de um sistema
optoeletrónico. A plataforma permite gerir registos de administradores, profissionais de saúde
e pacientes, criar planos de tratamento personalizados com exercícios incorporados, arquivar
e editar perfis, bem como recolher métricas de desempenho e feedback dos pacientes.
Para demonstrar o funcionamento da plataforma foi conduzido um estudo experimental
com recurso à Hexoskin e ao sistema de captura de movimento Qualisys. Os dados cinemáticos
adquiridos com o Qualisys foram processados no Visual3D, através de um modelo biomecâ-
nico. Posteriormente, todos os dados recolhidos foram sincronizados e integrados na plata-
forma, evidenciando a sua capacidade de combinar diferentes fontes de informação.
A TeleRehaSync apresenta, assim, potencial de aplicação tanto na telereabilitação como
em contexto clínico presencial, promovendo uma prática de reabilitação mais personalizada e
sustentada em métricas objetivas.
Telerehabilitation has been gaining relevance as a complement to conventional therapies, al- lowing patients to perform exercises remotely. However, current solutions face a critical limi- tation: the scarcity of quantitative measures to monitor performance and support clinical de- cision-making, which compromises the assessment of patient progress. To fill this gap, TeleRehaSync was developed, a platform that combines qualitative and quantitative data, adapted to different user profiles. It can be used in telerehabilitation, through remote monitoring with physiological and kinematic data collected by the Hexoskin t-shirt, a wearable device, but also as a complement to face-to-face assessment, simultaneously integrating data from Hexoskin and an optoelectronic system. The platform allows adminis- trators, healthcare professionals, and patients to manage records, create personalized treat- ment plans with built-in exercises, archive and edit profiles, and collect performance metrics and patient feedback. To demonstrate how the platform works, an experimental study was conducted using Hexoskin and the Qualisys motion capture system. The kinematic data acquired with Qualisys was processed in Visual3D using a biomechanical model. Subsequently, all the data collected was synchronized and integrated into the platform, demonstrating its ability to combine dif- ferent sources of information. TeleRehaSync thus has potential for application in both telerehabilitation and face-to- face clinical settings, promoting a more personalized rehabilitation practice based on objective metrics.
