This approach clarifies the relationship of the transcategorial grammatical values of time, aspect, modality and determination. The aim is to explain, at the level of the metalinguistic representation, phenomena that result from the plasticity of linguistic forms and constructions. It is assumed that representations don't influence the conceptions of grammar, but rather arise from them. In this sense, the representation is only considered as a tool for the description of linguistic phenomena. The verbal periphrases analysis focused on Discrete-Dense-Compact topology puts in evidence that the same construction can generate and articulate different values, resulting both from the intrinsic aspectual properties of the predicators and from values triggered by determination of nominal arguments.
