Resumo(s)
In this chapter we explore the potential of sound-based artistic practices to foster environmental awareness and community connection in shoreline contexts. Drawing from perspectives of acoustic ecology, sound art, music and sound-based pedagogies, we focus on the SHORES project and its “Drifting Sounds” workshop, reflecting on how two groups of families and children engaged with the soundscapes of the Aveiro lagoon, ultimately leading to the collective development of an “imaginary sound cartography”. Through this perspective we discuss the transformative potential of working with sound in educational and community contexts, in which creative sonic practices can foster ecological awareness, collaboration, and new forms of relating to others and the world.
