Resumo(s)
This dissertation explores the broader intersection between sports outcomes and financial market reactions, with a specific focus on Portuguese football clubs listed on the stock exchange (FCP, SCP, SLB). By analysing match results, betting odds and stock returns, the study employs multiple logistic regression models to assess how sports performances impact stock market responses. The findings reveal a significant relationship between match outcomes and stock prices, with victories in national and European competition generally associated with positive retunes movements. However, the impact of these outcomes varies across the three clubs and does not consistently align with market expectations. This research contributes to understanding the dynamic interplay between sports and financial markets, particularly in the context of Portuguese football clubs.
