dc.description.abstractSmallholder farmers play a pivotal role in bolstering food security within developing nations. Yet, they face a myriad of challenges to agricultural productivity in tropical regions, including pest and disease outbreaks, extreme weather events, and market instabilities, all of which pose threats to food security and stability. In this context, technological advancements have emerged as a transformative force in promoting sustainable agriculture globally. However, there exists a notable dearth of literature on monitoring crop phenology using web applications, which is essential for fortifying farmers' resilience to climate-related factors and facilitating informed decision-making among stakeholders. Addressing this gap, this study delves into past research and integrates features—such as Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), weather forecasts, and others— that were previously conceptualized but remained confined to academic discourse and papers, into an application designed to empower smallholder farmers and stakeholders with the tools needed to make informed decisions about farm-related activities, such as irrigation scheduling, fertilizer application, pest management, crop health and land use patterns, which play a crucial role in maximizing crop productivity and ensuring sustainable farming practices.pt_PT
