| dc.description.abstract | In the current intricate business landscape, marked by the complexities of globalization and evolving environmental factors, the imperative for informed decision-making has led to a significant rise in the adoption of Business Intelligence (BI) systems. Despite possessing substantial data, many businesses struggle with the challenge of transforming this data into actionable insights. This often results in decisions being made based on intuition, leading to reduced productivity and flawed strategic choices. This report delves into my role as a Business Data Analyst at Electrolux, a multinational corporation, focusing on the strategic implementation of a BI solution tailored to enhance data-driven decision-making processes. The initial scenario involved reliance on manual Excel-based analysis, a cumbersome process lacking visual clarity. Handling a lot of different variables and filters made calculations complicated, plus, without helpful visuals, managers found it hard to quickly understand the data trends. The report begins by discussing the importance of BI in today's complex business landscape and the challenges that businesses face in making data-driven decisions. It then describes the project at Electrolux, which aimed to implement a BI solution to improve the tracking of completed tasks and provide managers with a more visual and informative view of data trends. The report outlines the step-by-step process involved in implementing the BI solution, a comprehensive Power BI Report, from collecting data to pre-processing, analyzing, and visualizing the data. It also discusses the theoretical underpinnings of BI solutions, data warehouses, data analytics, and data visualizations. The report concludes by summarizing the key findings of the project and the benefits of using a BI solution to enhance data-driven decision-making. | pt_PT |
