Termos em Texto Literário: parâmetros para a sua tradução

Este estudo descreve a ocorrência de termos em texto literário, tendo como corpus de estudo a obra La Vie Mode d’Emploi de George Perec, e pretende fornecer aos tradutores literários critérios objetivos para fundamentar decisões tradutórias que antes estavam apenas entregues à sua sensibilidade e intuição. Com esse objetivo desenvolvemos uma proposta de parâmetros de tradução que tem em conta a necessidade de manter, simultaneamente, o valor terminológico dos termos e os efeitos que despoletam no recetor do texto literário. Abordamos aqui o texto literário não apenas como um ato de comunicação verbal que é necessário traduzir, mas também como uma obra de arte que é necessário preservar no processo de transferência intercultural. O estudo apresenta uma metodologia de extração terminológica que cruza os procedimentos de extração habituais em terminologia com a classificação de géneros discursivos de Maingueneau e com os seus conceitos de cenografia e destacabilidade. Posteriormente desenvolve uma metodologia de análise orientada para a tradução que permite identificar e registar as características de cada ocorrência através de uma grelha de análise e de uma ficha para sua aplicação. Por fim, recorrendo aos tipos e formas de tradução do modelo de Nord, desenvolve uma proposta de parâmetros de tradução que tem em conta a pluridiscursividade do texto literário e que associa as formas de tradução e o seu impacto às características de cada termo e do respetivo fragmento. Para desenvolver o estudo faseadamente, e testar os seus resultados em cada fase, o corpus foi desdobrado em três subcorpora, tendo cada um deles sido utilizado numa das fases do trabalho: partimos da observação inicial recorrendo ao subcorpus C1A; concebemos uma metodologia de análise (grelha e ficha de análise) que testámos no subcorpus C1B e por fim desenvolvemos a proposta de parâmetros de tradução que testámos no subcorpus C1C. A ficha de análise que elaborámos permite registar as características de cada termo em contexto e os seus equivalentes e tem grande potencialidade de utilização futura, podendo vir a integrar uma base de dados e/ou alimentar uma memória de tradução.
This study describes the occurrence of terms in literary texts, having as study corpus La Vie Mode d’Emploi by George Perec, and intends to provide literary translators with objective criteria to support translation decisions that were previously only left to their sensitivity and intuition. With this objective in mind, we have developed a translation parameters’ proposal that considers the need to simultaneously maintain the terminological value of terms and the effects they trigger on the receiver of the literary text. We approach the literary text not only as verbal communication act that needs to be translated, but also as a work of art that needs to be preserved in the intercultural transfer process. The study presents a term excerption method that crossed the usual excerption procedures in terminology with Maingueneau's classification of genre and his concepts of scenography and detachability. Subsequently, a translation-oriented analysis methodology is developed that allows us to identify the characteristics of each term by means of a grid and an analysis form for its registration. Finally, based on Nord's model of the types and forms of translation, it develops a proposal of translation parameters that considers the pluridiscursivity of the literary text and allows decisions to be taken in line with the characteristics of each term and fragment. To develop a phased study, the corpus was divided into three subcorpora, each of which was used in one of the phases of the work: we started from the initial observation using subcorpus C1A; we conceived an analysis methodology (grid and analysis form) that we tested in subcorpus C1B and finally we developed the proposal of translation parameters that was tested in subcorpus C1C. The analysis form we prepared allows us to record the characteristics of each term in context and its equivalents and has great potential for future use, namely by integrating a database or feeding a translation memory.
