Resumo(s)
In recent years, an increasing number of agencies have been designing open data platforms to not only promote transparency, but also stimulate how citizens interact within their democratic process. However, recent empirical research shows that these platforms have failed to really transform how citizens participate in governance, mainly due to overly simplistic approaches to the design of these platforms. The current landscape is composed of high volumes of raw, unstructured and fragmented datasets, which are a serious challenge for analysts and thus virtually incomprehensible for the average citizen. This project aims to combine techniques such as data integration and data visualization in order to build a narrative-inspired dashboard design that successfully allows citizens to extract meaningful insights from these open data sources.
