This text addresses the issue of the transit of political leaders from the left to fascism in three countries of Mediterranean Europe (Italy, France and Spain) in the interwar years. First, it offers an overview of the number and typology of these political leaders; secondly, it remarks the importance of a focus on biography, analysis of political language and comparative history; and in the third place a series of conclusive reflections are proposed.
