Large urban construction projects can cause small ground movements that may affect buildings and infrastructure but often go unnoticed in early stages. Traditional ground-based monitoring methods are limited in coverage and costly. This study investigates the use of satellite radar data to monitor ground deformation over an active construction site in the Central Business District (CBD) of Lahore, Pakistan. Sentinel-1 satellite data from November 2023 to November 2024 were analyzed using two time-series Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) techniques: Persistent Scatterer InSAR (PS-InSAR) and Small Baseline Subset (SBAS). The data were processed with the PyGMTSAR framework to generate ground displacement time series and Line-of-Sight (LOS) velocity maps. The results reveal clear spatial variations in ground movement, including stable areas and localized subsidence linked to construction activities. PS-InSAR provided detailed measurements over stable urban structures, while SBAS captured broader deformation patterns across the site. The combined approach demonstrates that Sentinel-1 time-series InSAR is a reliable and low-cost solution for monitoring construction-related ground deformation, supporting safer and more informed urban infrastructure planning.
