Os desafios e as exigências de inclusão das tecnologias móveis na ação educacional têm-se evidenciado na era da informação. Sendo, por isso, necessário explorar novas oportunidades de aprendizagem proporcionadas pelas tecnologias digitais, considerando os celulares, Tablets e smartphones como ferramentas de aprendizagem na atual cultura mobile learning.
Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar os desafios dos docentes da escola pública em integrarem as novas tecnologias digitais à prática educativa na contemporaneidade e pretende ser um contributo para a integração dos dispositivos móveis ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem.
Os dados da investigação foram recolhidos e analisados conforme os padrões de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, através de entrevistas a professoras e de inquérito por questionário, aplicado a 182 estudantes do Ensino Médio, numa Escola de Referência em Ensino Médio da Rede Pública do Estado de Pernambuco. Os dados coletados indicaram, entre outros fatores, a familiaridade destes jovens com a rede social Facebook para criação do ambiente de aprendizagem. A análise dos dados obtidos permitiu ainda concluir que, com a novidade da integração de dispositivos móveis como ferramentas de apoio às atividades de aprendizagem em sala de aula, os estudantes adaptaram-se rapidamente ao novo espaço de aprendizagem e incorporaram naturalmente os seus próprios celulares para estudo e leitura.
O espaço virtual constituiu uma extensão da sala de aula e foi uma ferramenta mediadora de aprendizagem, pois possibilitou tirar dúvidas e aprender quando era mais pertinente. Para além disso, permitiu um contato permanente com os conteúdos curriculares propostos pelo sistema de ensino e ampliou as práticas de leitura para além das obrigatórias, possibilitando a interatividade entre educador e educando, bem como entre os educandos. Elevou ainda a motivação do educando para a construção do conhecimento em Língua Portuguesa e o aperfeiçoamento das possibilidades de compartilhamento de saberes com a comunidade de aprendizagem na rede social on-line Facebook.
The challenges and demands that arise from the introduction of mobile technology in the educational field have become increasingly more evident in the Information Age. Thus, it is necessary to explore the new learning opportunities provided by digital technology and to consider cellphones, tablets and smartphones as learning tools in the current mobile learning culture. The purpose of this study was to analyze the challenges faced by public school teachers in integrating new digital technologies into contemporary educational practice and to contribute to the integration of mobile technologies in educational action. Research data were collected and analyzed according to qualitative and quantitative standards, through interviews with teachers and a questionnaire that was answered by 182 middle school students, at a renowned public middle school (Escola de Referência em Ensino Médio da Rede Pública) in the State of Pernambuco. The data collected with these instruments indicated, among other factors, the familiarity of these young people with the social network Facebook to create the learning environment. The analysis of the obtained data also allowed us to conclude that with the novelty of the integration of mobile devices as tools to support the learning activities in the classroom, the students quickly adapted to the new learning space and naturally incorporated their own cell phones for study and reading. This virtual space constituted an extension of the classroom, as well as a mediating tool of learning, because it made it possible to ask questions and to learn when it was more pertinent. There was also a permanent contact with the curricular contents proposed by the education system, an expansion of reading practices beyond those deemed compulsory, and an increase in the interactivity between educator and learners, as well as among learners. In addition, it has raised the motivation of the learners for the construction of knowledge in Portuguese Language, and the improvement of the possibilities of sharing knowledge with the learning community in the online social network Facebook.
